Dionysus in 69

Evohé! In exactly one month, I’ll be in New York City performing with the Rude Mechs in what is more or less the first-ever remounting of the legendary Dionysus in 69. This radical reworking of Euripides’ The Bacchae was staged by The Performance Group in the late 60’s and was a milestone in experimental theatre. I remember seeing the above photo in Oscar Brockett’s History of the Theatre textbook in college and wondering WHAT ON EARTH was going on. Find out for yourself by getting a ticket here.
